A catch-all feature that is enabled for a certain mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. Otherwise said, if you disable an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain, you’ll get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial in case you are running a business, for example. Since you may begin receiving unsolicited messages, you can use the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters in order to get only legitimate emails in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all mailbox without effort if you’ve got a web hosting plan with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel is feature-rich, yet surprisingly intuitive, and it will allow you to activate various options, including the catch-all one, with no more than several clicks. All the email addresses that you have created will be enumerated alphabetically in this section and next to each one of them you’ll see a tiny "Catch-all" symbol. Clicking it once will enable this feature, clicking on it twice will deactivate it. As you can have only one such mailbox per domain, our system will notify you if you already have a different one with this option activated or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a couple of clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes under any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all option for a mailbox, you will need to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be achieved in the exact same fashion and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a certain domain name, you will receive a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or alter anything automatically.
