.SE Domain Registration

The .SE country-code TLD was set up in 1986 and assigned to Sweden. During the first years after its establishment, the registration process was pretty restrictive, so a very limited number of domains were ordered. Persons were permitted to buy no more than one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was required, i.e. only Swedish individuals, firms and organizations were able to obtain a .SE domain. In 2003, however, the registration process was loosened considerably and, as a result, the number of dot SE domains has been growing each year.

Nowadays, anybody can register a dot SE domain, which gives you the chance to reach the Swedish web community even if you do not have a local presence.
