Started in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain extension is the only one planned for personal web pages only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our firm, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the current domain provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no specific terms on who can reserve a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
